North Platte, NE Area Guide

HISTORY

North Platte, Nebraska was first organized as a city in 1874 and was located along the Union Pacific Railroad lines. The town was intentionally organized here to be a geographic center that is equidistant from both Denver and Omaha. These days, the town is divided by US Highway 83, and the town is nestled between the North and South Platte rivers.
